David Hasselhoff (Michael Knight)
"Knight Rider" is what made Hasselhoff the TV star of the 80's on NBC-TV and the series was filmed at Universal City Studio's playing Michael Knight, a federal detective working for the law and government as it made him a major superstar since the show was one of the most watched TV shows although he was considered to be a heartthrob before this show came out in the daytime soap opera "The Young and the Restless" for 7 years playing William Snapper Foster, Jr.
But when "Knight Rider" came out David won the People's Choice Award for most popular actor as the show became a huge success overseas.

He had a dream to become a pop star and released an album titled Night Rocker in 1985. He had the opportunity to sing in a "Knight Rider" episode "Let it Be Me" and after the series ended in April of 1986 he launched a successful recording career in Europe signed by German composer and record producer as he had a number German hit called "Looking for Freedom" which stayed in the number one spot for eight weeks, along with the album Lovin Feelings.
He continued to make records throughout the 80's and 90's.

In 1989, David returned to television and starred as Mitch Buchannon on NBC's "Baywatch" with Parker Stevenson who gained a reputation in TV-movies as well as playing Frank Hardy in the 1977-79 ABC-TV series "The Hardy Boys Mysteries" which was by the same makers of "Knight Rider" and although it enjoyed good ratings the netowrk cancelled the series after only one season.
However, Hasselhoff and his partners of the series acquired the rights to show and based on his popularity overseas, they were able to secure financing and revive the show in 1991 but Parker didn't return to it.
Currently in it's tenth year it was renamed "Baywatch Hawaii" and was one of the most watched TV shows.

David did reprise his role as Michael Knight in a "Knight Rider" TV-movie reunion in 1991 called "Knight Rider 2000" as well as appearing in many movies of the week such as "Fire and Rain", "Avalanche", "Gridlock", "Nick Fury" and "One True Love."

In 1997 he won a role in a Broadway musical called "Jekyll & Hyde" a successful guy indeed.

He also works for a charity called "Race for Life" for the terminally ill and handicapped children in America and is making album's too as in 2004 he released a tribute CD titled David Hasselhoff Sings America and just released a 2006 single titled "Jump in My Car" which was also a tribute to his "Knight Rider" years..

Word is announced that a motion picture of "Knight Rider" will be made and David will be reprising his role as Michael Knight.
